Munich International airport is the second largest German airport next to Frankfurt.Munich airport is located outside of Munich in the northeastern suburb. The airport can be reached by suburban train lines S8 from the east and S1 from the west part of the city. From the main railway station, it takes about 40–45 minutes.The airport offers connections to most domestic airports in Germany, as well as many international airports worldwide.
By Train:
Most major European cities connect to Munich by rail. The Deutsche Bahn uses Munich as one of its main German hubs and has good connections to neighboring countries (Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Italy) and to all southern German cities.Munich's Hauptbahnhof (main station) is conveniently located in the center of Munich.
The main station is west of Marienplatz only a short walk away from the city center.
Public Transportation:
Due to Munich's large urban population it has one of the most comprehensive and punctual systems in the world incorporating both trams and busses.The main railway station is Munich Hauptbahnhof, in the city centre, and there are two smaller main line stations at Pasing, in the west of the city, and Munich Ostbahnhof in the east. All three are connected to the public transport system and serve as transportation hubs. InterCity and EuroCity trains to destinations east of Munich also stop at Munich East.
